Wee kitty

It is with great sadness we tell you about our dear Horse. He is gone. It's taken us a long time to come to terms with this. But the winter of 2003 was very harsh here and he was getting up in age. He has passed to Rainbow Bridge on February 14th and we shall miss him always. He'll always be in our hearts. He now dwells with my dearest Poddy and Watty in Rainbow Bridge.

We leave Horse as guardian and a tribute to him on this page. He's gone , but not forgotten. Horse, of course. A lovely feral kitty. Who was gracious enough to share some of his life with us.

The Horse, of course

04/12/07. Meet the newest baby in the family Ninotchka! She was a rescue. Came to live with us in November 07 at the age of 3 months. She is 95% blind. And must have her worse eye taken out on May 9, 2007. She is the sweetest pastel calico! She is pictured here in her little T shirt (to help heal the wounds on her back from an infection). She is a gentle loving little soul and let's me medicate her eyes and her wound each day. We love her so much!

Meet Frosty! She will be one year old on May 1, 2007! We got her when she was about 8 weeks old. Frosty was found on the side of the road with her siblings. She had eye damage in one eye so severely they had to remove it. Her remaining only has about 10% vision in it. She is a really affectionate little kitty. Always wants to be on your lap or by your side. We thank Nancy Jo for fostering her until we were able to adopt her. She is just a joy to have in the house! And Mr. Boink is her best friend now! See Frosty's Pic below.

We had been fostering to kitties from my feral colony. Francis and Jude a brother and sister. Both were very ill with upper respiratory infections and eye infections. Actually, There eyes were sealed shut when we went to trap them. After lots of medications, nice baths and much love, they were adopted! Thank you Denise and her family for taking them in. I want to thank Laurie and Denise for feeding our colony during the week also and Laurie for taking Smudge in when she was litte! See Francis and Jude's Pic below! I really miss them, but so happy they stayed together.

Introducing Mr. Mau Tse Cat and Boink!

Mr.Mau Tse Cat was a cat dropped off at one of my feral colonies which I am caretaker for. He was so sweet and gentle and it was Halloween. I was afraid he might go to someone who was not kind to animals that night with so many people being about. I decided to take him in and am I glad I did. He is the sweetest , gentlest boy I have ever had the pleasure of adopting. Mr. Mau gets along very well with all my other 5 kitty companion animals and has never scratched or bitten them or myself. He is soooo happy to be inside and plays and is just a very happy kitty. He is actually playing daddy to our wee Boink too! I am considering adopting his brother also. If you would like to adopt his brother please email us. (Addy can be found on main page) He looks just like Mr. Mau and we call him Mr. Mau II and would love to come inside. Below is Mr. Mau Tse Cat.

Now here is Boink. He is a kitty adopted from my DCSPCA and he has cerebellar hypoplasia. This is sort of like cerebral palsy in humans. He falls lots and has tremors. (He was found wandering on the street! How could anyone let this poor baby out!)

NOTHING stops this little fellow. He is so sweet and is not afraid of anything at all! He actually learned to climb a flight of 12 steps up to my second floor and eats like there is no tomorrow. Plays with the big cats (Even Mr. S'more's the 20 lb'er) and jumps and runs (and fall lots) but he is so full of energy and doesn't let his handicap get him down. Actually, he doesn't even know he has a disability! He also only has one eye. The other had to be removed because of severe infection.

This little fellow is a lesson to us all. Never let your disabilities get you down for you can do anything you set your mind too. And wee Boink has done just that!

Mr. S'more's Esq is now going on 3 yrs old and the animal warden found him and brought him to the DCSPCA where I adopted him! He is blind in his left eye and had some brain damage due to being hit by a car and left on the road when the Animal Warden found him. He gets around very, very well. Here are a couple of pic's of S'mores. He was 5 months old on January 9th of '06. Very big for his age! He was about 9 lbs then! Now below that is Mr. S'more's today. He weighs about 23.8 lbs now! He's getting along with everyone in the house. LOL but is also playing daddy to wee Boink!

Binky meets S'mores

I wanted to tell you the story of how we came to adopt our 3 sister cats. My dearest Boo and sweet Watty who have since passed away (see her memorial page below) and Baby! All feral kitty's. All sister's and all part Maine Coon! Then we adopted our dear Binky! Boo, Baby, below at 3 yrs. (Boo and Baby are 4 now and look the same) Binky below at 2 yrs who is 3 now and still looks the same. I know Poddy and Watty had a hand err..paw in this. So read on and meet them. Thank "Mew"

Introducing Boo, Baby And our Binky! All rescue kitty's.

Meet my cats

Boo and Wattle are feral kitten's. My vet Doc Garner had taken in many feral kitties and he really needed homes for them. Luckily, my dear sweet Poddy girl's spirit (and I really feel she did this) prompted me to blurt out "I'll take those two kitty's".

I found a home

Now I didn't want to bring home 2 kitties right now, afterall, I am still grieving my sweet Poddy. However, the deed was done, two more kitties saved and brought to a very good home, thanks to Dear Poddy! They were such good company for me. I laughed when I played with them. They smiled too! -:) They were happy kitties indeed. They had mega toys, food and most of all I loved them very much!

Paw walk

Boo finally let me pet and brush her, She came when called and was actually starting to act like Watty did! She passed at the age of 5 from FIP. Still very feral, but was quite socialized and even came out when company came. You can see her pics below. Catch her other ones of her upside down and sleeping with Binky too.

"Baby" or "Oh Baby" as she is also called was to be put down due to having FIP also. She is Boo and Watty's sister. We told the vet we would take her and give her a happy home. Watty got the chance to meet her 3 days before she passed and immediately got on fine with Baby. Boo came to love Baby also. Although there is a tad of jealousy from Binky STILL, Baby lets me pet and brush her now and comes to her name also. Catch the pic of Baby with Ms. St. Patty's day cat!

And so, on much advice from my FIP support group, vets and vet techs Binky came to live with us. She was a rescue from a horribly neglectful home. I saw her the second day she was at the DCSPCA where I help out at and I couldn't resist taking her home. She looks just exactly like Watty did! She could be Boo's and Watty's sister she is so like them! I felt it was a God Send to me to find her. So here are pics below of "Binky". She is very loving and sweet.

Two picture's of BINKY at 7 months! She is a sweet loving little cat. Howver, it's like having a two year old in the house and now she is four and hasn't changed a bit! LOL I get surprised each morning with a face wash by Binky. Then she brings me a piece of jewelry off my dresser or a cat toy. But it's only 6:30AM Binky!

Now you just might be asking yourself how did these wee furbabies obtain such weird names eh? Well, I always call loved ones Boo, you see it's a term of endearment with me. My Sweet Poddy I called Boo, my friends kids I call Boo. I call lots of critters Boo. Also she reminded me of Boo Radley! You know, one of the character's in "To kill a Mocking Bird". Boo never came out remember! Neither did my Boo from under the couch that is for quite a few days! So Boo it was for one of them.

Then I couldn't think of a name for the other. She was very much smaller in size then Boo was , even though they are TWINS! Yep, same mama cat had 8 babies and Boo and Watty were twins in that litter. So my friend in Australia Pam, suggested Wattle. It was Wattle Day in Australia the day I got Boo and Watty, so what better name! *Btw, Wattle is the National Flower of Australia*. Hence, Boo and Wattle were christened!

Horse was named after the cat in the Murray Ball books. Horse is quite the character in those books. Heck, he's quite the character in real life too! -:)

Now Baby was originally named Ashes, a name that didn't suit this lovely kitty so I renamed her Baby. Do you remember the movie "Bringing up Baby" with Cary Grant and Kate Hepburn? Well, Baby was renamed after 'Baby' in that movie.

Binky! What a name eh? Well, here at Easter time we have chockie rabbit's called Binky. So being it was getting close to Easter, you got it...Binky was chosen as her name. Cute eh? -:)

S'mores! A name to remember eh? LOL. He was named by the SPCA crew and we loved his name so much we decided to keep it. He is black and white and hey, a S'more's cookie is kinda like that? heehee! But then we started to say Mr. S'more's Esq. With a British accent and he began to sound like a barrister! Hence the title! LOL.

Mr Mau Tse Cat looked like a ocelot crossed with a tabby and had a rather oriental face. Hence the name , oriental isn't is?

Boink was named by the DCSPCA caretakers and called so because everytime he runs about he falls and you hear "Boink". There ya go! Boink it is!

.
Paper bag anyone?

Well, talk about sevenx fur grenades! WOW! They still keep me jumpin' from morning til night! I swear they are on pogo sticks on my bed. Of course, they can sleep during the day, I can't. But all are handicapped in some way, except for Mr. Mau. However, that does not stop them from playing and being ever so happy!

Remember, never let your furbabies outside unless you have them on a leash, kitty's, dog's or other creature's are your responsibility! *Fish not included in leash statement* giggle! And if you have a feral outside, make sure they have a warm place to stay and plenty of food and water. Also please do TNR (Trap,Neuter and Return) if you cannot socialize them.

Check back often and hear some of their adventures and see how their socialization is going and life in general is going. Thank Mew

Wee kitty

Ya know, it's nice to have the pitter patter ( or sometimes sounding like a heard of elephants!) of 28 feet in the house! I love all my furbabies so very much!
